The textbooks of Spoken Business Chinese are of great importance in the teaching materials of Chinese Teaching as a foreign language. However, the books currently available cannot meet the teaching needs either from the perspective of compiling modes or from that of teaching theories. The thesis is a tentative study on textbooks compilation concerning Spoken Business Chinese on the basis of task-based approach.Chapter One explains the research purpose, methodology and organization of the thesis. The current domestic and overseas studies on the subject, and the research trends are also introduced.Chapter Two makes an elaborate induction to task-based approach from the perspectives of its theoretical foundation, implications, fundamental elements, characteristics, principles and teaching modes, etc.Chapter Three is an analysis of the teaching materials of Spoken Business Chinese based on a data collection, which further reveals the existing problems in this field.Chapter Four takes one task, Price Negotiation, which is the most important part in business negotiation, as an example, and explores how to compile textbooks of Spoken Business Chinese with the employment of task-based approach in a better way. In the end, some recommendations are made.Chapter Five makes the conclusion.
