The Establishment And Development Of Friendly Relations Between The Soviet Russia And The Kemal Government (1917-1925)

Before the October Revolution in Russia ,due to the territorialdisputes,Russia and Turkey have a deep animosity between them.The Soviet Russia ,brought about the October Revolution ,has facedserious domestic and international situation in its early days.Theimperialist countries——The Entente bloc,attempted to stifle theSoviet regime in the cradle,they made a armed intervention inSoviet Russia and supported the reactionary rebellion in the SovietUnion’s territory publicly.At the same time ,due to the failure in thefirst World War ,the Ottoman Empire also face the fate of nationaldisintegration. In August 1920,the Entente forced the Sultan to sign《The color Dover treaty》, and carved up and occupied,Had itsterritory annexed, Turkey ,in fact ,has already reduced to turning ita semi-colony. Facing a crisis of national subjugation andgenocide,Mustafa Kemal,the leader of Turkish nationalindependence war, led the people to resist an attempt to put turkeyinto a semi-colonial settlement of the imperialist powers.After thefirst world war,due to the same goal to resist the imperialist, SovietRussian and Turkey began to cooperate. The government of sovietsupported the Turkish National War of independence ,whichpromote the victory of the Turkish war of national liberation,andSoviet is the first country to admit the Turkish National government in June 1920.The government of turkey lend a help hand to help theSoviet Union to get through the great famine .In 1921.3.16,both thecountries signed The friendship treaty,they formally established thediplomatic relations,which break the diplomatic isolation of theSoviet government first diplomatic recognition.In 1925,the twocountries signed The neutral friendship treaty and began toexchange and cooperate in more amd more fields.Throughout the relationship between Soviet Russia andKemalist government ,although they have idelogicaldifferences ,territorial disputes and other conflicts between them,they still spare no effort to cooperate and help due to the sameconsideration of interests in the objective international situation.History proved two cases once again : the interests are the libra ofthe international diplomacy, and the cooperation is the theme of theinternational community. With the intension to make a modestcontribution to the history of international relations, this paperattempts to put this small historical fragments into the globalsituation at that time and make a deeper research.
