The Study On The Relationship Between Sushi And Ouyangxiu

Sushi was the most remarkable representative and all-round great masters ofliterature in Song dynasty. However, Sushi’s success in Song Dynasty could not beeasily viewed as the result of mere chance or his genius, but the comprehensive effectdue to the politic, economic culture of Northern Song and his own destiny. In histeenage, Sushi devoted himself to study from fan pang, the famous minister of theeastern Han Dynasty. While, those excellent youth, like Fan Zhongyan, Ouyang Xiuwere devoting themselves to carrying out the new policies for the whole societyselflessly. Sushi praised their unswerving spirit as the model. Sushi came to the capitaland made his name at the Imperial test in the second year of Jiayou years. And sincethen, he started his remarkable life. However, his early fame was directly involvedwith Ouyang Xiu, who had been one of the chief examiners of that test, and had takenthe use of that opportunity to depose the Imperial literary form. So, Ouyang Xiuwisely sought brilliant Sushi, promoted him, and viewed him as the most propersuccessor leader to the literary reform movement that Ouyang Xiu calling for, evenentrusted Sushi this affair when he retired from the government. Sushi always spurredhimself with Ouyang Xiu’s earnest hope, and took Ouyang Xiu’s promotion as thecatalyst and compass of his literature mission. Sushi succeeded Ouyang Xiusuccessfully and led the literary reform movement to a heyday and got full prosperityof the literature in northern Song Dynasty. On literary theory and practice, Sushiexplored deeper on Ouyang Xiu’s basis. Even he carried forward Ouyang Xiu’s noblequality of rewarding and promoting talents and caring for people in accordance withthe code of ethics. Thus, he made a lot of true friends and developed plenty of talents.This article consists of three chapters. Chapter One systematically introducesthe friends making between Sushi and Ouyang Xiu, aiming at representing the processof their friendship clearly. The interaction between them starts form theteacher-student relationship, deepens in their literary communication when they foundtheir inherent similarities on personality, integrity and talent, and sublimates duringtheir last meeting at Yingzhou where they lift many a thinking and afterglow ofanecdotes which make their companionship valuable. I look at the development of SuShi and Ouyang Xiu course of the exchanges of teachers and students, Su Shi andOuyang Xiu’s friendship has gone through four stages, and concluded that therelationship between teachers and students to deepen, from Mentor sublimation tofellow friendsleap, so that a graded process. Chapter Two takes the Imperial test in thesecond year of Jiayou years as the time coordinate, from the different perspective ofOuyang Xiu and Sushi respectively, demonstrates the significant of imperial test the tothemselves, to the literary reform movement and to the literary circles of the northernSong Dynasty. It is the unusual historical significant of the second year of Jiayouyears that decides the abundant content of the companionship between Sushi andOuyang Xiu. Chapter Three emphasizing on the inherent similarities between Sushiand Ouyang Xiu, respectively takes their conversation, poetry and interactive recitingas the breakthrough point by the time order, illustrating the similarity of them two on their characters, aesthetic and attitude towards life. All of these make the two of themunderstand and identify with each other, and deepen their companionship.
