Nowadays, Chinese teaching materials are abundant in variety in the field of teaching Chinese to speakers of other languages, among which, good and evil materials mix up, a large portion of them do not taken the foreigners’ learning ability and the age characteristics into consideration. At the beginning of learning Chinese as a second or third language, foreigners always tend to choose a kind of simple material, which is easy to master, and won’t produce boring and frustration feelings. For the foreign adult beginners, they are prone to chose the text either limited to some simple dialogs with small vocabulary, or ones that are difficult to understand. Along with the Chinese international development, more and more foreign children are to join the ranks of Chinese learning, but in today’s field of teaching Chinese to speakers of other languages, suitable teaching materials, especially for foreign children, are very few. At this time, to choose suitable Chinese learning materials becomes the most important problem.When choosing a kind of suitable teaching material for the language beginners,we should comply with the following features:less vocabulary, easy to understand, fully considered the vitality and the interest, so as to arouse the enthusiasm of learners. At the same time, the selection of teaching material should be given to the education significance, and be able to spread Chinese culture completely in a systemic way. According to the requirements, we find out that children literature has been famous for its vivid and interesting narrative, abundance of knowledge. Meanwhile, its reading group is not only confined to children, many adults also joined the ranks. The author advocates the combination of Chinese children literature and primary Chinese teaching as a foreign language, hoping to open up a new field, and to turn the old become new, so as to solve the previous problems which produced primarily in Chinese teaching.
