There are hundreds of different versions of the definition of "religion" in the Western religious theory. This article refers to "religion", only consider the Chinese context, referring to China’s indigenous Taoism and Chinese Buddhism. Southern and Northern Dynasties, by virtue of the development and improvement of Ge Hong, Lu Xiujing, Tao Hongjing, and Taoism gradually become the official orthodox religious. Buddhism from the Eastern Han Dynasty, was introduced to China, the beginning of the incoming was attached to the traditional Chinese culture, opening a period of Chinese history. From East Jin to South Dynasties, an increasing number of emperors become a Buddhist. Buddhism had almost achieved the status of state religion.This article explores the religious beliefs of the Chenjun Xie Family, referring to Taoist beliefs and Buddhist beliefs."Faith" involved in the ideological level, relatively abstract and empty. It is difficult to grasp. This paper attempts to abstract into concrete, from the following specific aspects of discourse Taoism and Buddhism Worship of the member of Chenjun Xie Family. Their Taoism Worship are mainly manifested in the fate of the inquiry, owned by Prudential Taoist longevity in health, prayer, and for Immortality. Their Buddha Worship is mainly reflected in the play with the monks, the construction of Buddhist temples and comments Buddhist.The first chapter discusses the relationship between Xie Family and Taoism. Taoism is the rapid development in the Jiangnan(江南), from childishness to maturity, and believed by the upper gentry and royal family. The close relationship between members of the Xie Family and Taoism involved in honor and disgrace, or involved in their life. The author believes that there is a special reason. It is that members of the Xie Family troubled by disease. One of the basic purposes of Taoism is the pursuit of longevity. This is precisely meet Xie Family the most urgent, the most realistic requirements.The second chapter discusses the relationship between Xie Family and Buddhism. Until the Eastern Jin Dynasty, Buddhism is really popular. Eastern Jin Dynasty, Buddhism and Taoism is friendly, it is the social inclusion that prompted Xie Family believe in Taoist and Buddhist at the same time. This chapter set out the Xie Family’s figures from the second to the twelfth World. They talk with the monks, build Buddhist temple as well as notes or change scriptures. The exception is xiehui(谢嗨).The third chapter analyzes the reasons of Xie Family religious belief change. I believe that there are two reasons. One is the influence of social environment, the other is the impact of sunen(孙恩) unrest. Buddhist forces of growth, intense Buddhist dispute and the attitude of the royal support for Buddhism prompted Nobles to change their religious belief. The sunen(孙恩) unrest made members of the Xie Family the fall of the battlefield, or the tragic death under the butcher knife. The Xie Family was shocked by the bloody memory. In the end, the Xie Family became the Buddhists.
