Films have been developed for over1century and they were imprinted a documentarynature since the day they were born. Producers and researchers both gain a deeperknowledge of the nature of documentary films. The advent of the visual era offers solidsupports for technologies and ideas of documentary films.Before1980’s, most of documentary films in mainland China have been seen aspolitical commentary style. At the end of1980’s, adocumentary film called "view the Great Wall" made a breakthrough by turning its sight toordinary people, and journalists seen in the camera. Since then, the shape of documentaryfilms varies.
