Imperial Kiln was the product of the totalitarian authority in feudal society, whoseporcelain bore the emperor’s implements view, embodied clearly epochal character,implicated the cultural concept of the emperor of the time and reflected the emperor’saesthetic pursuit. During the period of Emperor Jiajing, the royal devices factoryproduced lots of Imperial Kiln porcelains. Among the great variety of these porcelains,the exquisite white-and-blue and antique-colored ones especially appealed to the laterscholars, cultural relics enthusiasts and collectors. From the view of Emperor Jiajing’sImperial Kiln porcelains, to explore the aesthetic standard of Emperor Jiajing can not onlyenlarge the subject scope of Chinese classical aesthetics, but will also offer newreferences for the research of the society of China during the period of Emperor Jiajingin Ming Dynasty.From the view of Emperor Jiajing’s Imperial Kiln porcelains, this thesis researchesand analyzes the ceramic style of Imperial Kiln porcelains on the basis of socialbackground during the period of Emperor Jiajing and the regulations of Imperial Kiln.Furthermore, it explores the era characteristics of the aesthetic of Emperor Jiajing’sImperial Kiln porcelains and defines Emperor Jiajing as the main role of the aesthetic ofEmperor Jiajing’s Imperial Kiln porcelains. On that basis, this thesis summarizes themain points of the aesthetic of Emperor Jiajing and analyzes the cause of formation, thecontemporary and later influence of the aesthetic of Emperor Jiajing.
