The Chinese character teaching is an important part of teaching Chinese as a foreign language. Chinese learning is also a difficult part to foreign students. This paper is about Chinese characters learning strategies of foreigner students in primary stage. The writer analysis the advantages and disadvantages of Chinese characters learning strategies in base of the teaching experience for the purpose of making advice in teaching and learning Chinese characters, in the purpose of providing advice and recommendations.There are five parts in this paper, talking about some problems in Chinese characters teaching both in practice and theory ways. The content is as follows:The first part introduces the purpose, significance and method of this paper. Most of the papers in Chinese characters teaching is about Chinese characters and teaching method. Chinese characters learning strategies is less. There are still some problems to be solved.The second part is about the concepts and classification of Chinese characters learning. Introduce the achievements of the Chinese characters learning. Chinese characters learning strategies is less, and the research methods and the research perspective is single.The third part is about the design ideas of the questionnaire and investigation. First the author shows the problems to be solved, and choose the object and the information of study. The questionnaire includes the background of Chinese characters learning and Chinese characters learning strategies in form of Chinese and English ways. The individual interviews also include these two parts. At last, the author collects and analysis the materials.The forth part research the questionnaire. There are four parts. The first one analysis the advantage and disadvantage of Chinese characters learning of foreign students. The second one is about Korean students in Chinese characters learning strategies. The third one is about the difference between men and women in Chinese characters learning strategies. The forth one is about individual students.The fifth part is the summary about opinion and conclusion of this paper, pointing out deficiencies, providing advices.There are still some disadvantages in this investigation, hoping for playing some role in teaching and studying Chinese characters.
