The Cultural Extension—Research On The Hezhe Music Intergenerational Inheritance Of Wu Family In Jiejinkou

As a least-populous nationality, Hezhe minority reside in northeastern Heilongjiangprovince. In recent years, its music culture, by its unique national style, has alreadycaused people’s attention from all circles in society. This thesis focuses on a case studyof a Hezhe music family in Jiejinkou. The interests’ selections, contributions andintergenerational inheritance of Hezhe music in Wu family four generations are in-depthstudied and then the objective law and the social role of music cultural extension byfamily are discussed.In Wu family, four generations, represented by Wu Guoxiang, Wu Hanzhang, WuFuchang, Wu Yumei, You Junli and Wu Qi, involve songs, dances, instruments andinstrumental music, etc. The members of Wu family have made great contributions tothe inheritance and development of the Hezhe musical culture.This thesis systematically investigate the intergenerational relation between fourgenerations of Wu family, their interests’ selections, and the intergenerationalinheritance of Hezhe musical culture. Historically, interests’ selections and theintergenerational inheritance possess distinctive features of the ages, whether before andafter the end of Cultural Revolution or currently with the tide of protection ofnon-material cultural heritage. In the aspect of music cultural inheritance, thecharacteristics of the intergenerational inheritance in Wu family are as follows: familycultural context, involuntariness between the teachers and the students, the consistencyand selflessness, and the identity of the inheritance subject, etc. At last, the dilemmas ofmusic cultural inheritance in Wu family is multi-angle analyzed and the correspondingsolutions are proposed.
