Language and culture are inseparable, while culture teaching is necessary in language teaching. Since the outbreak of "cultural hot" in the1980s, the cultural factors in second language teaching has been gradually discovering, cultural teaching theory research and teaching practice research and textbooks’writing have been developing in TCSL, especially in culture teaching system and the cultural factors’ writing in comprehensive textbooks. Culture has been recognized as an important part of teaching Chinese as a foreign language. But compared with the language studies and teaching which are more mature, cultural studies and teaching still has a long way to go.In theory, there is no culture syllabus which has been accepted widely in TCSL. In practice, teaching and textbooks didn’t take pay great attention to cultural content, resulting lack of systematic, comprehensive research. These not only affect cultural teaching achievements, but also restricted the development of TCSL. The lack of cultural teaching and the lack of consciousness of cultural acquisition will make the learners produce cultural barriers and communication barriers in learning and communication process. Therefore, in the primary stage blending the culture content into the teaching material, the teacher carries on the appropriate introduction about the content of culture teaching, on one hand which can make great contributions to the Chinese international promotion, on the other hand which can develop foreign learners’intercultural communicative ability more effectively, which is the important factor distinguish Chinese culture teaching from comprehensive teaching or other teachings.This article analyses three textbooks of elementary Chinese and summarizes the ways that these textbooks introduce culture factor, and these books are Elementary Chinese Textbook,40Lessons for Basic Chinese Course and Chinese course. Based on the theories of intercultural communication and the relations between language and culture, this paper points out advantages and disadvantages on the introduction of cultural factor in these textbooks, and gives suggestions on how to introduce cultural factor in elementary Chinese textbook.There are five parts in this paper. Part1is the introduction about the object of study, the research objective and research methods; The second part is chapter1, which introduces the important role of the comprehensive teaching material in the primary TCSL; The third part is chapter2, which analyzes the classification of the comprehensive content of the three textbooks. Part4is chapter3, it’s about the methods and the feature of culture introduction in the primary TCSL, giving the writer’s opinion on how to introduce culture in elementary Chinese textbook.The last part is the research conclusion of the text.
