American Women’s Liberation Movement from1960s to1970s stimulated the women’s sensewhich was long-forgotten. Female artists commenced to take their status in art history into consideration.Female artists began displaying a unique vision that was completely different from men’s. They evaluatedtheir own status in society carefully, and led to the consciousness of gender identity. As a result, womenbecame outstanding as independent individuals. Influenced by this tendency, many female artists discussedwomen’s unique art existence from artistic formation, via experience and reflect themselves. Now femaleartists have obtained obvious gender identity which has been blended into creation. They commenced to getrid of men’s vision on purpose, and reveal they own unique experience, emotion and sense.Since the Reforming and Opening Up began and western artistic thoughts spread, many domesticfemale artists have gotten rid of the narrow women artistic themes before by exploring art positively. Theyfocused on themselves and expressed the world through unique horizontal of women. Personal experience,inner existence and feelings blended together, the artists built up their own art styles gradually and updatedthe art new fields and landscape. Although it has developed slightly in modern world, the women art is stillin infancy and has a long journey to explore.This dissertation will seek the common and difference between feminist artists by analyzingMexico artist Frida and Chinese artist Pan Yuliang. It is important to feminist art development to comparethese two great artists. By stating female consciousness in the works of the two artists, we will be able tofemale vision in feminist art, conclude and analyze how the feminist being expressed, and help peopleaware of feminist in art theory and practice.
