Introduction of the scenic spots is the major job of international tour guides and tourist translators. And translation of scenic spots’names is the first step of introduction. Thus it is of great importance to study the translation of names of scenic spots. This paper starts with the analysis of the features and functions of the scenic spots names. The language used should be easy to understand. Though the names are short, they are rich in content. Tourist texts share the function of infomativity and atrractiveness, so are the Chinese Scenic Spots’Names. Then the paper introduces two principles, the "adaptation to original names" principle and the functional equivalence principle. They can guide our translating process. We should first meet the "adaptation to original names" principle. The functional equivalence principle gives translators more freedom to adopt translation methods.
