Language is closely related to culture, is a part of culture, and also one of the carrier of culture. The creation of one language can not be divided from the endeavour of the nation who uses this language. During the creation, the world view of the nation will certainly blend in it, namely the language will contain various kinds of cultural factors. Therefore when one learns Chinese, he should learn the Chinese culture at the same time. Only in this way can he learn it better, and use it fluently, and make few mistakes in communication with Chinese.Culture teaching and Language teaching in TCFL is synchronized. In language teaching we should introduced culture teaching organically, timely and properly. And this is not easy for both Reading Materials and teachers. The culture which is closely related to the language should import in the materials. Such materials contribute to the teachers’teaching and students’learning. As a teacher, one has to know the Chinese Culture and the culture of students’ nation, then the teaching will have more focus and effectiveness.The cluture factors’ effects in the learning of students have the same importance as the phonetics, vacabulary and grammar.They are all parts of Language internal structure and influence the learning and using of the language, and the necessary part of TCFL. They have the same important part, but so far only the grammar, vocabulary, and function outline are formulated, not the culture outline.Because of such compiling, we don’t have a standard. And the culture factors are discretionarily compile in.In view of the above reasons, this paper made the following several aspects of the work:summarize the research on teaching materials and culture; use both qualitative and quantitative ways in the statistical analysis of the culture factors in Intensive Reading Materials of Intermediate Chinese; point out the advantages and defects of the compiling, analysis the modes of presentation of the culture factors; Based on the above analysis, compare the first edition of textbooks with the second edition of the textbook, point out the same and different places in cultural factors compiling and the second edition of the textbooks is better than the first version of the textbooks in some ways;again based on the above analysis, give the proper cultural orientation. At last, this paper puts forward some suggestions on the compiling and teaching of Intensive Reading Materials of Intermediate Chinese.
