Folk religion of Ming dynasty (1368-1644) in Hunan is very important in religious history of China, which has great impact on the future generations of Ming dynasty. The folk religion in Chinese history has developed for thousands of years, it seems to have become the inevitable history and has developed some distinct characteristics. This kind of distinct characteristics is determined by region unique local characteristics and cultural connotation of Hunan in Ming dynasty. Therefore, the author thinks that it is necessary to strengthen the research on the folk religion of Ming dynasty in Hunan, and focus on the unique local characteristics.In the introduction, this paper has expounded the significance and subject academic value, Hunan area of the generation of religious development situation overview of simple, and generalizes the ideas and methods, the innovation and the shortages and the frame and main content of this paper.This paper is divided into four chapters. The first chapter of this paper involved the definition and concept of a detailed explanation, especially for Hunan area history evolution of the detailed instructions. In the first chapter of the second quarter, the author explains the details of folk religion of the general concept, the Taoism and Buddhism also integrated into the folk religion ranks, and to do the new folk religion of classification; the author elaborates the concepts of local Chronicles in Hunan province in the second part of this chapter, including Buddhism, Taoism, and classifies them in a new way. In the second chapter, this paper discusses the development and characteristics of two points and other types of association of folk religion in Hunan. The third chapter focus on the situation and characteristics of it, and then explain folk religion of the Ming dynasty in Hunan with a kind of brand-new Angle.
