This paper describes the changes of Mongolian costume, using oral history,"old photo" and documented materials. Since the founding of new China, during60years, interruption and continuity of Mongolian costume are the main form of the changes.In this paper, the topics are focused on two issues:firstly, the basic policy of ethnic minorities, like "equality among minorities "and " minorities’unity is creating political and social environment.which is the main problem for the interruption and continuitySecondly, the interruption and continuity committed to the form of symbolic meaning of ethnic minorities costumes. The symbolic meaning of ethnic minorities costumes has been strengthened in the60years.
