Undisciplined Crying Out

The internet digital short film is one of the developing trends of the plebification image production in the internet environment, the rapid development and great influence on our society of which have displayed its vigorous vitality. When personal image production, like personal writing, has become a tool for expression of young people, internet digital short films are more than automatic image duplication but rather an ideology machine, the creative process of which is a construction process of the subject-object relationship and the target world. When the internet digital shorts production has become a means of expression used by young people, we in this thesis try to figure out characteristics of image discourse of contemporary young people through research on the internet digital shorts. In this thesis, we make internet digital shorts as our research object and adopt the method of ethnography and questionnaire survey to explore the image discourse characteristics of contemporary young people guided by those theories as society and culture, Aesthetics of Literature and Art. Our research mainly focuses on three aspects that are production subjects, image discourse characteristics of the young and value characteristics which in turn specifically include analyzing reasons for the development of internet digital shorts, displaying main characteristics of image discourse of young people by analyzing the age structure, senses of identity and themes of shorts and the features of narration, discuss the image expression that is "out of discipline" and the lost of value purse of the image discourse in the internet times from a critical point. During our research, we have combined the method of theory research and textual analysis so as to roughly reflect characteristics of young people’s culture in contemporary China and promote the production of internet digital short films.
