The upper reach of Han River is an area where the south poems and the north poemsconverge. In the pre-Qin period, the confluence of realistic poems and romantic poems,whose typical works respectively are the Book of Poetry and Elegies of the South,initially established the unique traditions of poetry in this area, such as the confluence ofthe south and the north poems; the melting of realistic, simple style and romantic,splendid style. From Qin Dynasty to Southern and Northern Dynasties, the poems of thisarea developed in theories, contents and forms, and it make a active preparation in notonly quantities but also qualities for the development of Tang poems.The poems of the upper reaches of Han River in Tang Dynasty are created based onthe background of unique history, geography, politics, economy and culture, and havefour main characters:(1)having vivid local features. Main description objects are theregional characteristic landscape, the local poetry tradition infects Poetry creation style.(2)being abundant in works written by poets who wander about seeking office, settle in aalien land or lead an unstable life;(3)having plentiful styles and most poems expressingthe feelings caused by the rise and fall of lives and history;(4)having different styles indifferent periods of Tang Dynasty. The poems have five basic topics, including naturaland rural poems, historic and cultural poems, political and military poems, products andcustoms poems and personal sufferings poems.The poems of the upper reaches of Han River in Tang Dynasty can be divided intothree sections: poems of the early and flourishing Tang Dynasty, of the middle TangDynasty and of the last Tang Dynasty. The early Tang Dynasty Parnassus was silent,most works of this period describe the roads to Shu. In the flourishing Tang Dynasty, thepoetic circles warmed up slowly and a lot of famous poets, such as Li Bay, Zhang JiuLing, Wang Wei, Du Fu and Cen Shen, appeared on the Parnassus. The poems of theupper reaches in the middle Tang Dynasty came to a climax in both quality and quantity;comparatively, most poems are written by some specific poets; the topics are more clearand bright, and most are banishing poems Written by Yuan Zhen, Bai Juyi, Han Yu andLiu Yu xi in Shang Zhou as well as poems reflect separatist warlords, riots and common travels. According to the poems of Yuan Zhen and other poets, this article points that BaiLaoguan on the post road to Shu is not located in the southwest to Xi County of HanZhong, but located in the north to Wu pan Hill, Jiang Ling River, Guang Yuan City,Sichuan Province. The poems of the upper reaches in the last Tang Dynasty are not lessthan middle Tang’s in the quantity, but fall off obviously in the quality. In this period, thepoems most are historic ones aroused by some historic and cultural stories about theupper reaches of Han Rive, travel ones and elegies expressing sorrowful and confusedfeelings about the times and lives.
