This paper involves sarcophagus of Minjiang River and its population remains inall aspects.First, through the introduction the concept of ethnic group,the ethnic of thesarcophagus was analyzed, and the Qiang people and other people GeJi wereidentified by the way of ethnic distinction. At the same time, most of the characters ofthe people Di, from the upper reaches of Minjiang River, were in common to the Geji.The conclusion that the people Di was the owner the sarcophagus, was confirmed.Second, according to the unearthed relics in the upper reaches of MinjiangRiver, the sarcophagus will be divide into six periods: the Spring and Autumn period,the early Warring States, the mid Warring States, the late Warring States, the timebetween Qin and Han and the mid and late Han period. In accordance with thefeatures of unearthed relics, ears tank was a representative, the structures andcharacters of the burials, all of the sarcophagus were divided into three types: cardremains sarcophagus flower type, CuoJi mountain type and good mountain type. Andthe various types of cultural factors were analyzed.Then, after the introduction of social theory, the social types of CuoJi mountaintype and HeJia type in different periods of Minjiang River were analyzed in details.Finally, contrast the different names of those ethnic groups in the literatures fromdifferent periods, and describes the population distribution and the migrationcondition.
