Junior high students are in a special time of adolescence, physic and psychological are undergoing drastic changes, especially for freshman. An important issue need to face is to adapt to. How adapt to school rapidly within a short time of learning and life, worth every junior high school student attention.According to the physic and psychological characteristics of junior high school students, this study targeted to design to improve the new junior high school adapt of group counseling scheme. Purpose to explore weather the adaptation group counseling can make students better and faster to adapt to school life. The study of process is to use student adaptation questionnaire as evaluation tool in Hohhot NO.29new junior high school, randomly selected from a class before intervention for all the people pretest; From30low pretest scores of pupils filtered out of24students as experimental group, the rest of the people do nothing, the experimental group for2months in order to improve the school adaption as the theme of group intervention; After the intervention, all the people are tested,which is called posttest. Compared the protest and posttest scores, watch for the changes and the extent of changes. Results for after2months of adaptability of group counseling, group members generally believed that the design of group counseling to adapt to the new junior high school has a positive role in promoting, the questionnaire showed that the experimental group scored significantly higher than the control group.Conclusions of the study are as follows:1. The group counseling activities designed by author can improve the freshmen effectively on the ability to adapt.2. Results revealed that junior high school students’ poor adaptation problems need timely solved, so it is necessary to counsel junior student timely about school adaptation. 3. New junior high school students display no significant difference in gender variables.
