Junior high school students are in the adolescent stage,physical and psychological development is not mature,easily produce a variety of bad negative emotions.The depression and anxiety of junior high school students is prominent,and studies have proved that rumination is a predictor of depression and anxiety.This paper tries to use the form of group guidance to intervene in the middle of ruminant thinking,guide the junior middle school students have a correct understanding of negative events and negative emotions help junior middle school students form good emotional management strategy,the development of positive psychological quality,the junior middle school students to help them to think actively,adapt to various environment,active and healthy growth,reduce anxiety depression.From the perspective of ruminant thinking,the ruminant thinking scale was used to investigate the ruminant thinking status of 531 junior high school students in two middle schools in Kunming,Yunnan province.In addition,cognitive reassessment group counseling was used to intervene junior high school students’ ruminant thinking.10 students in the experimental group and 10 students in the control group were selected from the junior high school students with high ruminant thinking.High score ruminant thinking junior high school students in the experimental group received 10 sessions of cognitive reappraisal group counseling once a week.After the group counseling intervention,the experimental group and the control group were compared to evaluate the effectiveness of cognitive reappraisal group counseling on the ruminating thinking of junior high school students.This study draws the following conclusions :(1)in rumination thinking of all dimensions,junior high school students’ symptom rumination score is higher than that of forced meditation and forced thinking.In terms of demographic variables,there was no significant difference in the total score of rumination in grade,gender,ethnicity,whether the child was an only child,family location,school type,family economic situation,and parents’ educational level.(2)the scores of symptom rumination dimension were significantly different in grade and school type;Rumination thought can positively predict the occurrence of depression and anxiety.(3)cognitive reappraisal counseling program can effectively reduce rumination of junior high school students.
