The Research Of Tatsuzo Yamagishi "Japanese-Qing Conversation Self-education"

This thesis analyzes Tatsuzo Yamagishi’s textbook which titled Japanese-Qing Conversation Self-education. It describes and analyzes the Japanese-Qing Conversation Self-education from four aspects:phonetics, vocabulary, grammar and conversation. Furthermore, a brief review will be given on the arrangement of content and teaching methods of this book.This thesis consists seven chapters:The first chapter is introduction. It explains the meaning of this research and introducing the research background, theories, methods, and corpus source.The second chapter gives a brief description of Tatsuzo Yamagishi’s life and his major works. Furthermore, the objective reader of Conversation Self-education and its publishing situation and compilation style is introduced.The third chapter first cited the discussion of Chinese pronunciation from the book which includes the changes of pronunciation and simple compound vowels. Secondly, it gives a discussion and evaluation the pronunciation system from the book.The fourth chapter is the research of vocabulary teaching from the book. It analysis vocabulary teaching form the aspects of basic and general vocabulary.The fifth chapter is the analysis of grammar system. It studies the vocabulary classification and sentence structure from the book.The sixth chapter gives a brief study from the aspect of conversation of the book. It analyzes principle of conversation compilation and material selection. Furthermore, it gives an analysis of teaching methods from the book.The last chapter is the evaluation part. It gives review on the specialty and value of Japanese-Qing Conversation Self-education book and suggestions of further improvement.
