Chinese characters are shouldering five-thousand-year Chinese history and civilizationas a kind of communication symbol of text information and amalgamating with the aestheticimplication of Chinese culture. Chinese character is changing into an extremely charmingdesign language in today’s age of picture-reading. After a long history of the evolution anddevelopment, Chinese character is entering the modern design field from the beginning of thedrawing record and calligraphy aesthetics, which relies on the inborn feature and uniqueframework. Chinese character nearly penetrates all the visual communication design fields.Especially, it’s an indispensable element in the poster design field.This paper aims at excavating deeply the character as the carrier of the visualization, thecommunication, media-oriented and artistic design pattern. The paper finally carries on a thoroughexploration on the aesthetic-intent reconstruction of Chinese characters in the application inthe poster design field. It uses the example analysis and creative practice to reflect the uniquevisual appeal, consequently expanding new ideals and development space for poster design.This not only helps Chinese designers to explore creative inspiration and visual form from theprofound cultural heritage, but also it can inherit the more national cultural sense ofresponsibility and mission.
