In our daily life, we use“被”-sentences commonly. Many scholars have researched and written theses on them. At the beginning of our thesis, we summarized those results and described“被”-sentences in detail.We use“被”-sentences frequently, but foreign students of Chinese usually avoid or misuse“被”-sentences. In order to find out the reason, we investigated the current teaching situation in teaching Chinese as a foreign language. We analyzed the teaching materials and the teaching methods. At the same time, we did a survey named Learning the grammatical use of“被”-Survey for foreign students. And we investigated the errors in HSK dynamic composition corpus.In order to help learners to study“被”-sentences better, we tried to provide a teaching method that combines the semantic background to teach“被”-sentences. The semantic background is an important aspect in researching function words. We provide the semantic background of“被”-sentences, and we suggest combining with the semantic background to teach“被”-sentences.
