Situational teaching method is one of the most efficient teaching methods in curriculum revolution.It fits the psychological features and age characteristics of pupils.And it matches the characteristics of the textbook in primary school and meets the requirements of New English Curriculum for Chinese Primary School.Multimedia Assisted Situational Teaching Method is important for English teaching.The thesis sets Multimedia Assisted Teaching as a point of penetration and adopts questionnaire,observational and interview to find out the application conditions such as lesson types and application frequency and strategies of English teachers on Multimedia Assisted Situational Teaching Method in primary English class.This thesis takes Xi'an Foreign Language School as an example.Based on the schema theory and language acquisition theory,the author analyses the usage of 3teachers' application condition and strategies of Multimedia Assisted Situational Teaching Method through class observation.At the same time,36 teachers are surveyed by questionnaires to learn the teachers' attitudes and opinions about the advantages and problems on Multimedia Assisted Situational Teaching Method.In addition,the author interviews 6 teachers in order to understand the application strategies about Multimedia Assisted Situational Teaching Method.Research shows that the Multimedia Assisted Situational Teaching Method is helpful for English teaching in primary school,but there are some problems.For example,some teachers rely on the Multimedia Assisted Teaching overly.They cannot create situations without Multimedia technology.In addition,some teachers create unpractical situations with the help of multimedia technology.These situations created by multimedia technology are far away from real life which is difficult for students tounderstand.The authors attempts to provide effective strategies and advice for the application of Multimedia Assisted Situational Teaching method in primary English class.
