The Analysis On The Source And Dynamic Development Of The New Words

This article,firstly through classifying and analyzing"new words dictionary (1978--2002)"(edited by Kang Shi yong and Liu Hairun), and another two dictionaries edited by Wang Junxi "Chinese New Words dictionary of the new century (1978-2002)"(collection of new words of2000-2005) and "Chinese New Words dictionary",obtains new words in1980s,1990s as well as that from2000-2010.Thus sets up an entire outlook of new vocabulary in new period.Finally,by comparing with Li Xingjian edited "Chinese normal dictionary "(second section)(2010),it figures out which new words have entered in relatively stable state,and which are still in active level in modern Chinese vocabulary.In second part of this article,five reasons are presented to analyze the emerging of those new vocabulary. coined word,refers to new words coined,including new words derived from social development and changes,values changes and internet.Absorption,refers to vocabulary absorbed from alien words,words in Hongkong,Macco and Taiwan region, as well as some dialectal words.Transformation,means to transform old vocabulary.It includes two forms:one form is that the word doesn’t produce new meaning after transformation,such as breviary,abbreviation,combination, homophonic.the other one is that the word gets new meaning after transformed, such as allegory, extension,which shifts meaning of original words. Analogy,is divided into relative analogy and rows of analogy.And the later one produces great amount of word family,which is an bivious feature of new words development process. Activation,includes activation on old vocabulary and word.These vocabulary and words are widely known or valued for some hot spots of society.In the third part,this article analyzes different development direction of new vocabulary in above-mentioned three periods.And explains by data which new words have entered in relatively stable state,and which are still in active level in modern Chinese vocabulary. It also declares causes of different development directions of new vocabulary in five aspects,which are:game between universality and unpopularity of new things and concepts;new values and old ideas;economy and definition of language;alien word and native Chinese word,normalization and principles of language itself.In the end,starting from microscopic,this article analyzes varieties and characters of distribution of different period new words’ syllable,part of speech and internal structure, and concludes same trends and different characters in their development,which supplies forecast suggestion for new words development trend from2000to2010and later on.Hope this article would provide some revelation for analyzation of new vocabulary’s dynamic development.
