Research On Value Conflict Of College Student And Its Impact Factor

Since our social have been big change from structure to the way of life, diversifiedvalue system become the main characteristics of The Times. This trend led collegestudents to in trouble of the value choice. The researchers confirmed that valuesconflict influence the development of mental health.However, the college students’values conflict and the related research are still in a theoretical exploration stage, lackof objective empirical research.In this study, through literature review, case analysis and open-endedquestionnaire surveys, we formulated college students’ value conflict questionnaire.Inthe prepared study, through exploratory factor analysis (EFA) and confirmatory factoranalysis (CFA), we confirmed that the questionnaire has three variables and highreliability and validity. In the applied study, we analyzed the actuality of collegestudents’ value conflict and the differences from different degree of value conflict inthe main demographic variables. In addition, we had a preliminary study of therelationship between the parenting styles, self consistency and congruence and valueconflict, and pointed out the college students’ value suggestion.The main conclusion of this study:(1)The structure of the college students’ valueconflict is made up of three dimension, namely personal goal-means conflict, socialgoal-means conflict and rules conflict.(2) Value conflict exists widely among collegestudents; the degree of value conflict of female students is more higher than that ofmale students; Students in grade2and3have more problems on value conflict thanthose in grade1and4; Students of literature have more conflict than those of engineeron personal goal-means conflict; Students in rural areas face more trouble on socialgoal-means conflict than those in city.(3)Parenting style and Self Consistency andCongruence have significant influence to the value conflict variance.(4)Parentingstyle and Self Consistency and Congruence have the direct and indirect effects on thecollege students’ value conflict.
