Self consistency and congruence reflects the consistent and harmony between theindividual self and experience, it is associated with the most significant physical andpsychological symptoms. Concerned about the mental health of college students is significant,self-consistency and congruence as factor closely related to it deserves the attention ofresearchers. Studies have shown that Personality and coping style two factors have animportant impact on self-consistency and congruence. This paper aims to investigate thecharacteristics of college students personality, coping style and self-consistency andcongruence, and discuss the relationship among Personality, coping style and self-consistencyand congruence in-depth.This study used a stratified cluster sampling method to extract the1,000subjects in thethree universities in Shijiazhuang, and with the Eysenck Personality Questionnaire, stresscoping style questionnaire, self-harmony scales measured subjects. The results are as follows.1. Current situation of College Students’ personalityIn the dimension of psychoticism, boys scored significantly higher than girls, Freshmanscored higher than sophomores and juniors, Non-art students scored significantly lower thanart students, Only children scored significantly higher than non only child. In the dimensionof neuroticism, Freshman scored significantly lower than the sophomore and junior. Non-artstudents scored significantly higher than that of art students. Score from the city’s universitystudents was significantly higher than students from rural areas. In the internal and externaldimension, boys scored significantly higher than girls, Non-Art Students scored significantlylower than art student, freshman scored significantly higher than the sophomore and junior.2. Current situation of College Students’ Coping styleOn remorse, fantasy, retreat, rationalization dimension, boys scored significantly higherthan girls, only children scored significantly higher than non only child. On the help factor,Girls scored significantly higher than boys,On problem solving and back-off factor, freshmanscored significantly higher than the sophomore and junior,art students scored significantlyhigher than non-art students.3. Current situation of College Students’ self consistency and congruenceOn the self-discordant, self-stereotyped, discordant score three factors, boys scored higher than girls, On the self flexibility factor, girls scored higher than boys,On the selfdiscord factor, freshman scored lower than sophomore and junior, art students score higherthan non-arts students. on the self stereotype factor, Freshman scored higher than thesophomore and junior, art students score higher than non-arts students, score from the city’suniversity students was significantly higher than students from rural areas, Onlychildren scored significantly higher than non only child. In the discordant score, Onlychildren scored significantly higher than non only child. On the self flexibility factor, Nononly children scored higher than the only child4. There are significant correlations between Personality and self-consistency andcongruence, there are significant correlations between Personality and coping style, thereare significant correlations between coping style and self-consistency and congruence.5. Coping styles played a part intermediary role between personality and self consistencyand congruence.
