Bilingual education which is a new type of teaching model in the minorityareas in china is gradually developing after the establishment of new china. Theresearch about Bilingual education of Minorities and Han Began in the mid-20thcentury and has formed a certain scale till1990s. Practice has proved that thedevelopment of the Uygur and Han bilingual education fundamentally change theeducational system of the Xinjiang region, It have great practical significance and far-reaching historical significance for the development of national educationalundertakings in Xinjiang and further promoting the economic, technological andsocial development of the entire region of Xinjiang. But from the two perspectives oftheory and practice, there is a lot of immaturity about the Bilingual education in china.China’s Uygur and Han bilingual education has so many problems, such as theconstruction of the bilingual policy, the appropriateness of the bilingual educationmodel, maturity of the bilingual curriculum and teaching materials, the quality levelof bilingual teachers, the effectiveness of the teaching evaluation system, so to solvethese problems we need further research.In this paper, we inductive, analysis, comb, summary the status and the latestprogress of bilingual education at home and abroad education, at last we not only letthe teachers and students did questionnaires bur also interviewed them about bilingualeducation.Questionnaires and interviews analyzed Uygur and Han bilingual educationfrom six aspects, including the bilingual policy, pattern, curriculum, textbooks,teachers and evaluation of bilingual education. The study found that this mode ofbilingual teaching have following problems. First, implementation problems ofbilingual education policy. Second, we need further study about bilingual teachingmodels. Third, bilingual curriculums have problems, and textbook supplementaryinformation is not able to fully meet the current needs of bilingual teaching. Fourth,the level of teacher qualifications, the Chinese Proficiency and bilingual teachingskills is low, The training system can not meet the instructional needs of teachers.Fifth, the bilingual teaching evaluation can’t follow the development of education,Bilingual education is less effective.According to the survey results of the analysis, we give some concrete proposals to develop Uygur and Han bilingual education in Xinjiang. First, further developmentof the bilingual education policy in line with regional peculiarities. Second, develop avariety of bilingual teaching models according to he different conditions. Third, thefurther development of the bilingual programs, and strengthen the construction ofteaching materials of Chinese and Uighur, increase capital investment, teachinghardware and software support. Fourth, improve the education level of bilingualteachers, improve their Chinese language level, improve the mechanism of bilingualeducation training further. Fifth, improve the evaluation of bilingual education.
