With the development of the network, the popularity rate of the network is getting higherand higher. In the college students’ group, the network not only becomes indispensable toolsin their study and their life, but also becomes a way of entertainment in their spare time. Atpresent, the number of netizens in our country rises year after year, however, because of theabundance of time and the characteristics of the curiosity to the new things, college studentsbecome the main force of the network users. In the former research we find that male collegestudents account for the majority in the main force and they also excessively use the network.University stage is the most precious gold period of their life, and it’s the key period toestablish their world outlook, the outlook on life and values. During college life, if thenetwork, the learning and communication tool is not used reasonably, their academic careerwill be inevitably affected. How can make students reasonably use network becomes the keysubject for the educational, psychological science and social circles. To get the result, theyneed to make a further discussion about the behavior mechanism to use network and theinfluencing factors.This research focuses on analyzing the appearance of pathological Internet users amongthe male college students from maternal parenting styles and individual ways angles anddiscussing the interaction among the maternal patenting styles, coping styles and pathologicalnetwork using, to establish the relation model between the three. The result shows:1. In the test, the pathological Internet users of the male college students accounts for34.40%, among whom five subjects are serious pathological Internet users, and the proportionis7.64%.2. In the pathological use of the network male college students, the grade in maternalparenting style of too much interference or refusal and denial is a remarkable main effect.Sophomores get more scores than juniors in the two effects. Urban and rural differences andmother cultural degree are significant interaction in the aspects of too much protection,serious penalty and denial, male college students from town and whose mothers own collegedegree get lower scores than the rural students.3. In the pathological use of the network male college students, grade, urban and rural source and mother cultural degree are not significantly different to the coping ways, and theinteraction is also not significant.4. In the pathological use of the network male college students, there is a big differencein time management between urban and rural students. Male college students from town getmore scores than rural male college students. Grade and mother cultural degree in the forcedInternet, tolerance, human health and time management aspects have few differences, andtheir interaction is not effective.5. There is a major active correlation between emotional warmth and preference factorsin maternal parenting style and positive coping ways. There is a negative correlation betweentwo much protection, interference, denial and severe punishment factors in material parentingstyles and the active coping ways, while a significant positive correlation between the factorsand negative coping ways.6. Coping styles play an intermediary role in the maternal parenting style andpathological network use.
