This paper gives us a preliminary study on the production of Chinese and Greekmythology, and then it analyzes the differences of Chinese and Greek mythology in thecontent, characteristics, development history, and their influence on their own nation. Asa form of folk literature, mythology is the early human art works of unconsciousness.Aesthetics, takes art as the research object,and studies aesthetic category and feeling ofmyths about formal beauty, noble beauty, tragedy beauty and so on, and even itsbeautiful creation, development and law from the aesthetic relations of people’s reality.It concerns the difference of aesthetic characteristics, tragedy aesthetics and aestheticvalue of two national myths. It is designed to compare the difference to explore the rootcauses of diversity, and analyze Chinese and Western common aesthetic laws.First of all, the article elicits their own national characteristics and styles from thedifference of the production, content, features of Chinese and Greek mythology. Therehave a big difference in aesthetic sense, aesthetic creation, and aesthetic experience.Second, the aesthetic categories of the tragedy are reflected in the two ethnic groups’myths. However, the article analyses their different emphases from the three angles ofthe conflict, tragic ending, spirit of the tragedy. Chinese mythology pays attention toethics and Greek myth focuses more on philosophical thinking. Thirdly, with thehistorical process of two national development, their literary and cultural developmentinherits parts of the form, content and spiritual content of their own national myths.Besides, it also has a far-reaching impact on the artistic creation, literary form, aestheticeducation of modern society, and embodies the aesthetic value of the myth completely.Finally, the article has an in-depth analysis about the root of differences after comparingthe difference in the aesthetic sense of Chinese and Greek mythology. There are twonations of different historical backgrounds, geographical situations, societies, the naturalenvironment, psychological structures and ways of thinking. Further more, it finds theirroots in common, and points out the aesthetic rule and aesthetic essence about Chinaand Greece in mythology creation.
