With a history of more than seventy years, Sipingdiao drama comes into existence in the 1930 s or1940s with a clear clue of development. It is popular mainly among the local people at the common board of the four provinces including Henan, Shandong, Jiangsu and Anhui Province. In the 1950 s, the young regional type of opera was introduced to Jinxiang, Shandong Province and since then it has became the most popular opera art in Jinxiang.Many specialists and scholars become interested in Sipingdiao drama as it is one of the National Intangible Cultural Heritage. According to the survey made by the writer, the researches on Sipingdiao drama made by the academy mainly focus on its history of development, singing art, heritage and protection and so on while few focuses on the research of aesthetics. As Sipingdiao drama is sung by dialect and its tone is smooth, the research made by the writer has some advantages as Sipingdiao drama is popular right at the hometown of the writer. In order to cover the shortage of the research on Sipingdiao drama and broaden new research area of it, the aesthetic research of Sipingdiao drama made its script as the subject investigated with a combination of Chinese classical aesthetic theory of opera.On the basis of historical truth, the research analyses the features and values of Sipingdiao drama script of Jinxiang, with all the works and papers on the research of Sipingdiao drama as well as some famous works on opera theories as reference and major actors, directors, script writers as interviewee, using the methods of data studies, field studies and expert interview. The research contains five parts:introduction, which expounds the reason, importance and value of the subject and analyses the present situation of research at home, is the first part. The second part is about the general development history of Sipingdiao drama of Jinxiang which mainly introduces the guide development of Sipingdiao drama,Sipingdiao drama troupe of Jinxiang, the main leaders, actors, and script writers of the troupe. The third part is about the aesthetic research of Sipingdiao drama script of Jinxiang, which is the key part of the paper. First, the writer classifies the plays played by Sipingdiao drama troupe of Jinxiang with a detailed analysis and instruction of all kinds of different plays in the form. Then by using the play which the Sipingdiao drama troupe of Jinxiang is most good at as the typical example, the writer analyses five aspects of Sipingdiao drama——subject, plot, language, characters and the happy ending and comes to the conclusion as follows: ①the subjects are quite close to the real life and time, ②the structure is simple and clear, ③the characters are typical,④the script languages are full of countryside styles,⑤ the happy endings meet the audience’s aesthetic psychology. The forth part is about the unearthing of the aesthetics value of Sipingdiao drama, including going to the stage, moving audience, educating through entertainment. The fifth part is the conclusion on the research and several suggestions on the research in the future.
