Emotion regulation is the pivotal mechanism for the individual to adapt the sociality, emotion regulation strategy is to be in the best emotional state for the individual, control and regulate emotion effectively,and be an important capability for the individual to adapt the sociality and environmental needs.Middle school student’s emotional characteristics is quick, impulsive and intensity, Therefore, it is particularly important for middle school students how to regulate emotional events in the daily life. Meanwhile, the main task of middle school students in school life is to acquire knowledge, however, it is practical significance for student’s study how to regulate the emotion, not affect the process of learning, improve memory efficiency.The research is divided into two studies. One is discussed the structure of negative and positive emotion regulation strategies of middle school students in depth through self-compiled questionnaire of emotion regulation strategy of middle school students. And it is selected that two strategies(cognitive reappraisal, expression inhabition) have relationship with cognitive activities as the variables of experiment. The other is discussed that different emotion regulation strategies have impact on neutral memory materials induced by the state of negative and positive emotion. Experiment is used by3×2factors-mixed design. The variable of between groups is the type of strategies:cognitive reappraisal group, expression inhibition group,and the simple watch group. The variable of within groups is the type of emotion:negative and positive emotion. The results show that:(1) The structure of negative emotion regulation Strategy of middle school students is divided into five dimensions:mood support;expression inhibition;cognitive reappraisal;situational change; transferred attention.(2) The structure of positive emotion regulation Strategy of middle school students is structured into four dimensions:active distraction;cognitive reappraisal expression inhibition;mood sharing.(3) Self-compiled questionnaire of emotion regulation strategy of middle school students.has good reliability and validity, it can be an effective tool as a measure of emotion regulation strategy for middle school students.(4) Under the condition induced by negative emotion, emotion regulation strategies do have impact on the neutral memory material,and there are significant differences among different emotion regulation strategies on neutral momory total score, verbal memory, and non-verbal memory.(5) Under the condition induced by positive emotion, there are no significant difference with neutral memory total score, and non-verbal memory. However, in verbal memory, the scores of cognitive reappraisal group are higher than the expression inhibition group.
