A Discussion Zhang Zhilu’s Children’s Novel

After one hundred years of development in China, children’s literature has madegreat achievements. However due to some reasons, there is still enough space to bedeveloped.In comparison to children’s literature in western world, readability andintellectual satisfaction are comparatively lacking. As in China’s Children’s literatureworks, the banter, romping are easily found, furthermore some of them are related tothe political reason.Zhang Zhilu, a famous Children’s literature writer in China, conveys owncharacteristics in his works. From the interesting perspective, the interesting story andthe convoluted plot in his works attract the readers besides the sense of humor. Fromthe perspective of knowledge, many wise ideas have also been deliverd in his works,those ideas are sometimes concerned to science and culture and also to the growth ofa little boy. To cite his own words, his work is the combination of being interestingand meaningful, during writing which keeps in his mind.The purpose of this paper is on basis of studying the different works to focuseon the elements of being interesting and meaningful through intensive reading someparts in Zhang Zhilu’s major works.This paper consists of four parts.The first part will give an introduction of Zhang Zhilu and his works andaccording to the different characteristics of his work, it is to achieve a type researchon his works.The second part will focus on discussion the art features in his work which areclosed linked with his work style. In his students’ novels, the humourous expressionis a key part, in the science fiction novels, It’s just these heart-thrilling chapters thatattract every reader while in his literary novels, he presents the spirit of innovationwhich keeps pace with times.The third part will learn his sense of responsibility by means of analysis hisworks in different styles which makes his novels full of humanistic sensibilities. Through his works, he conveys his concern to people, tecnology development andTraditional Chinese Culture.The last part is the summary part. Now Zhang Zhilu’s works have acquiredconsistent high praise both from readers and literary critics. The main reason is healways maintains the innovation in his creation which satisfies readers’ requests.Being meaningful is resulted from his unique insights and in-depth knowledge. Thesuccessful combination of being interesting and meaningful has been approved byexperts and now in the market his books earn popularity which is definitely a goodexample to new writers and also paves a new way for the development of China’schildren’s literature.
