Directional verb is definitely a difficulty during teaching theChinese as a foreign language, because it’s a special and closedtype, even there are not many of them, but they have been using alot; the function of the semanteme and the layout of the syntax arealso relatively complicated, so when the foreign students try to usethose directional verbs, there could be many errors in it. In view ofthis problem, I gathered some error sentences from the HSKdynamic text corpus, foreign students’ homework and also the dailyconversation and use them as the researching material, thenprocessed a inductive analysis to such this materials, I hope thisresearch for the directional verb could help on the Chineseteaching in some case. This article includes five parts: The first part: Foreword. Mainly includes the reason for selectedthis topic, the scope of this research and the resource of theresearching material.The second part based on the summary of the predecessors,processed an induction and comment to the research of thedirectional verb. It also stated the property, function of semantemeand syntax of the directional verb; and some of the researchachievements in the Chinese teaching and problems in the existingresearch as well.The third part processed a questionnaire to the actual situation ofthe directional verb study among the foreign students, andprocessed an investigation and analysis to the text corpusdirectional verb which in the dynamic test corpus as well, combinedthe conclusion of these two, it also processed an error analysis infour aspects, such as omission error, verb unnecessary adding,overrepresentation and verb disordering. The forth part analyzed the reason for making this kind of error,and the internal reasons are: Negative transfer on the nativelanguage and target language, some issues on the learningstrategy and some personal problems; the external reasons are:some influences from the teacher, text books and the languageenvironment.The fifth part put forward some teaching suggestions on threeaspects, such from the text books, teaching method and also thelearning attitude of the students.
