The directional complement can reflect the efficiency and comprehensible of Chinese.The structure is rich and varied. So it is the difficult part in teaching as a second language. Inthe previous studies, the research is mainly concentrated on the acquisition and the cause oferrors in several aspects. There is no article focus on the output form of the textbook and thelink of acquisition of the directional complement. The article choose “developing Chinese”asthe object of the research. To investigate the distribution and the output form of directionalcomplement in the textbook,we comparing and descripting the1st and2nd edition ofdeveloping Chinese. Comparing with Chinese standard and Grammar Syllabus, we have hadthe specific requirements of directional complement. We proposed the rationalizationproposal from material selection, text grammar points distribution, practice three aspects. Atthe same time we investigate the Chinese learners’ acquisition of directional complement,from the new view of symptomatic and imagine for classifying and analyzing the type of error.According to the new requirements of HSK new exam outline, teachers are advised to enforcethe training of oral language skills for learners. At the same time, the article also thinks thatthe period ally teaching of directional complement playing a positive role in teaching as asecond language.
