Directional complement is the priority of Chinese grammar research and the difficulty in second language teaching.Based on error analysis of the use of directional complement by international students,this thesis examines the syllabus and textbooks and offers targeted teaching design on the acquisition of the grammatical item of directional complement by international students at the elementary stage.This thesis falls into five parts:Part One is the introduction.It mainly introduces the research objectives and significance of this thesis,research methods,and relevant studies or outcomes on directional complement.The research outcomes mainly include ontology research and research on the teaching of Chinese as a foreign language.Ontology research mainly includes definition of directional complement,grammatical meaning,and position relationship.The Research on the teaching of Chinese as a foreign language mainly includes error analysis,acquisition sequence,and teaching.Part Two mainly sorts out the errors made by international students when using directional complements.It classifies the error types into omission,overrepresentation,location errors for directional complement and object,and analyzes the reasons for the errors from such perspectives as negative transfer,learners,learning environment,teachers,and textbooks.Part Three conducts a preliminary analysis on teaching design,examines the grammatical item of directional complement in the syllabus and textbooks,illustrates the teaching design principles and teaching methods,and determines the specific content of teaching design.Part Four integrates analysis outcome with teaching practice,adopts graphic method,situational method,action demonstration method,and game method to offer specific teaching design on the teaching of directional complement to international students at the elementary stage,reflects on teaching,and timely adjusts teaching design through classroom observation and student feedback.Part Five offers rational suggestions on the teaching of directional complement from the perspectives of teachers,students,and textbooks.Finally,the author summarizes the major content and research defects of the thesis.
