As a small country in central Europe, Switzerland is well known for its watch industryand financial system, and this country gives the impression of being gentle and quiet. But inthe second world war, with the cover of neutral country, Switzerland transferred the wealththat was taken from occupied territories and the Jews through other neutral countries, andgreatly strengthened Nazi Germany’s war ability. Whereas the allied countries led by theUnited States launched a serious of tit-for-tat measures to cope with all those deedsconducted by neutral countries, especially Switzerland. These measures took intoconsideration the economic as well as military factors. With the change of internationalsituation, the United States continuously changed its policies toward Switzerland, eventuallythe both sides reached the agreement in the form of protocol, however, the protocol stillcouldn’t solve all the disputes and problems, and the concerning issues remain unsettled untilnow.This paper mainly has the following three parts:The first section: analyzed the Swiss bank Nazi gold sources, composition, andSwitzerland and Germany wartime transactions. Explore Switzerland for Germany in WorldWar II "special" status.,The second section: This section is the focus of this article introduces the policies,measures and changes of the United States to Switzerland. From1940, Roosevelt signed thefirst8389presidential decree to freeze Nazi Germany assets in the United States, May1946,the United States and its allies and Switzerland signed the Washington Agreement, the basiccompletion of the disposal of the Swiss banks and Nazi gold issues.The third section: This section discusses the impact of the Washington Agreement,analyze the reasons and background of the US-led Allied Group Swiss compromise andSwitzerland after World War II "special" status.
