| Translationese is a common phenomenon in English-Chinese translation, which is a controversial topic. Generally, people think it not only affects the transmission of the information and culture of the source language but also spoils the beauty of the target language, but some people consider it a reasonable and effective translation skill. Therefore, translationese can be divided into benign translationese and nonbenign translationese. This essay mainly discusses the forms of nonbenign translationese, expounds its objective causes by discussing the lexical and syntactic differences between the Chinese language and the English language and gives some suggestions to avoid it based on the author’s own translation practice. Translators are supposed to attach great importance to the countermeasures of nonbenign translationese and improve their translation constantly. |
