| Since Hong Kong Golden Harvest Ltd came into being, it produced a large amount of splendid movies, which not only obtain intense repercussions from the viewers, but also lead the innovation of genre film in Hong Kong. Based on the genre films of Golden Harvest, this thesis correlate research theory method on aesthetics and typology, attempting to sort out the traditional genre films of Golden Harvest aesthetic characteristics, cultural agent, as well as the influence on the genre creation from the satellite system.Golden Harvest Ltd posses mature genre concept and experience for forty years, which have made a great contribution to genre film in Hong Kong. In the first place, it has a rich kind of innovation about genre films, and it initiates many film genres and trends, best known for Bruce Lee films, Hui brother social comedy films. In the second place, it focuses on the adhesion to the dominant genres, and it never misses comedy and action films. In the last place, the combined genre films have been successfully opened up, such as action-comedy and ghost-comedy, and etc. It also emphasizes the typological moderation.The thesis analyses the genre film-making of Golden Harvest, which not only help us build a more thorough understanding of development course of Hong Kong genre films since1970s, but also reveal what the mainland films can gain enlightenment from the Hong Kong genre experience. |
