| The emergence of Chinese characters indicated the very beginning of the Chinese traditional culture. Generally the evolution of the typeface even emitted the shining light of the Chinese calligraphy. One of the most significant types is Clerical script which is the priceless treasure of Chinese Fine Arts. Clerical script originated from Han dynasty which succeeded the former tradition of the Seal script and also initiated the custom of the Regular script. Han dynasty impressively culminated the art of the stone of the Regular script. It is Han dynasty that left so many works of the stone for its descendants."Zhang Qian Bei" and "Shi Men Song" are the most classical ones, and these two types of arts also differentiated from each other within many aspects. Therefore, the research of the comparison between these two forms of Chinese calligraphy has become so meaningful which can also contribute a lot to the creation of the Chinese calligraphy. In this paper, I will mainly focus on two aspects:Firstly, I will argue that during the process of creation, one is supposed to take advantages of every traditional type so that the works will become spectacular. Meanwhile, combining the character of one’s own type with the heritage is also essential to a successful work. On the other hand, figuring out the balance between the use of the skills of inscriptions on a tablet and of one’s own creation is supposed to be studied in this paper. The ultimate goal of this research is to learn from treasure of the ancient’s works and to make use of these traditional elements into our own creation. It is an enjoyable process to succeed the traditional heritage, especially when you can exhibit these characters in your own work. |
