Science and technology,as one of the most important products of humancivilization,has been unprecedentedly developed since IndustrialRevolution.Ecological crisis is becoming more and more serious and naturaldisasters,such as atmospheric pollution,climate warming and geologicaldisasters, have warned human being many times.Although we have takenmeasures for remedying the situation,ecological and environmental issues havenot been soloved even not relived until today.Therefore,mankind still face severeecological crisis.Leopold once put foward Land Ethics.In Land Ethics,natureincluding soil,water,air,animal and human is seen as a whole.Otherwise,human isjust a member as other species in nature,belonging the whole.In the author’sopinion,taking Land Ethics up is appropriate today when the ecological crisis isstill severe.This thesis reassesses Leopold’s Land Ethics and relationshipbetween nature and human.In addition,this thesis also discusses theoreticalsignificance and practical significance of Land Ethics from the point of view ofmoral practice.The author thinks only when mankind know relationship betweennature and hunman and put right attitude toward nature,we can really respect andlove nature,and carry out it in practice,developing human civilization under thepremise of protecting nature and creating harmonious and beautiful livingenvironment.
