This paper aims to make a further study on the use of Chinesedirectional word "上"by international students. The entire typical corpusin this paper is based on the corpus of Beijing Language University. Onthis corpus we collected19204directional words "上".After manualwork, we found8901directional words "上".After analyzing the corpus,we concluded three types of "NP上". According to the result of thecorpus and the grade of international students, we calculate these threetypes of "NP上" and the acquisition order. Then we classify the mistakesby international students into six types. And then we maderecommendations to the teaching material.This paper includes five parts.1. Quotation. It contents significance of this choosing subject; Theachievements summed up by our predecessors; The methods; Andthe explanation of the corpus. 2. Review of "NP上".It is mainly to aim at the research of directionalwords and classified into three types. It is important to point out thatclassification is very important. After referring to the books andpapers of predecessors, we type the "NP上" into three types. Andthey are NP上1, NP上2,and NP上3.3. Acquisition research of "NP上" of foreign students. In this part wecan include the acquisition order of foreign students.4. Analysis of mistakes by foreign students. Based on the HSK writingcorpus,according to study levels of foreign students, we statisticsthe mistakes. And then we concluded the reasons of these mistakes.The mistakes made by foreign students can be classified from sixaspects, and they are phonetics, semantics, and grammar. We canthen fractionized the grammar into six types. And they are skipping,redundancy, replacement, preposition skipping, prepositionredundancy and disordering.The last part is the ending of this paper. Based on the summary of theconclusion, we propose several proposals to the teaching material and classroom teaching. At the same time, this paper undoubted exiting someproblems, we desire to deepen and resolve these problems.
