With the development of the economy, transnational cooperation is the irrevocable trend. Therefore, it stimulates the development of business interpretation. Demand for business interpreters is also rampant. Being a good interpreter, one should have good command of language skills and business knowledge. Moreover, the interpretation should not just consider the meaning of words and grammatical structures of the two languages, as differences and misunderstandings arising from cultures can never be neglected and overstressed. This report is about the personal experience in the First Dalian International Wine&Dine Festival. In the report, the author discusses the meaning of words and sentences from the aspect of Adaption Theory by Verschueren. The report strengthens the author in her knowledge of Adaptation Theory, which serves as vital guidance for future interpretation study.The first part of the report is about the general information of this practical experience, including the background, the intention of the practice and preparation for the work. In the second part, the author points out the necessary skills needed for a business interpreter. The main part of the report analyzes the skills for the improvement of the interpretation quality with the use of Adaptation Theory. Moreover, the report briefly introduces some other problems encountered in the author’s work, such as phonetic differences and figure interpretation. Some advices have also been provided to solve such problems. The end of the report reveals the conclusion of the work and comes up with some pieces of advice for future interpretation.
