Resecrch On The Mount Tai Temple Theatre

Mount Tai culture is an important part of Chinese traditional culture, and theworship of the deity is the core content of Mount Tai culture, which has been fullyreflected in the national sacrifices and folk beliefs. After prosperous activities ofsacrifice in many dynasties, a large number of cultural heritages have been left in MountTai, and the most important part is the temple. In some temples, theatre buildings,called temple theatre, have been built to sacrifice the amusing god, so there are manytemple theatres in Mount Tai, such as Dong Yue emperor temple theatre, Bi Xia YuanJun temple theatre, Guan Di temple theatre, the heavenly Wangmu temple theatre andother small temple theatres, but it is a pity that the buddhist temple theatre and ChengHuang temple theatre have disappeared. These remnants of the temple buildings andstone steles, which include a lot of historical information, are valuable to folk beliefs, theworship of the deity and the research of play.At present, there are some works involving the temple theatre and dramatics, butthe researches are still not systematic. In this paper, based on the investigation to thetemple theatre of Mount Tai, the development of dramatics in Mount Tai is expected tomake clear. At the same time, the study of temple theatres and dramatics will bebeneficial to the research of opera cultural relics. So the temple theatres and dramaticsof Mount Tai have been thoroughly discussed in this paper, combining with localChronicles of literature of Mount Tai in the city of Taian. According to the different faith, the distinctiveness of the temple theatre and dramatics has been respectivelydiscussed, and the relevance to Mount Tai has also been summarized in this paper.There are five parts in this paper. The first part is about the Dai temple theatre ofMount Tai, mainly including its history and appearance, places of dramatics and thecontent of the dramatic activity. Through the research in this article, the large terrace inDai temple was the extension of platform of Tiankuang, and the small terrace wascreated for stage performance. However, due to special reasons, the large terrace mostlyundertook the function of sacrifice, and the small terrace.lost the function of stageperformance. In addition, the interim stage can be seen everywhere during the templefair, and the performance is very colorful.The second part is about Bi Xia Yuan Juntemple theatre. The temple of Bi Xia and the dance building were firstly studied in thispart, and during the research, we proposed different points of view about the year of thetemple of Bi Xia. Instead of the han and tang dynasties or the year of dong feng for theemperor song zhen zong, it should be created after the emperor song zhenzong but notlater than the jia you year of song ren zong. The prosperity of incense club was closelylinked with the belief of Bi Xia Yuan Jun. In this paper, god acting activities duringsacrifice have been carefully discussed.The third part is about Guan Di temple theatreand its theatrical stage. Through the study of the historical data, the history of the GuanDi temple was made clear, and because of its special geographical position, its dramaticactivity would be carefully studied.The fourth part is about the pool of Wang Mu andshow building, and the building of Yue xian is the only Ting Xie type in Mount Tai. Thefifth part is about other smaller temple theatres which had disappeared, includingCheng Huang temple theatre, Gaolishan Temple theatre, Zhuyang zongsi Templetheatre and Yuchi theatre, In five parts of the article, the study of the stage constructionin temple should be the most important, which will be beneficial for the study of operacultural relics and folk customs.In conclusion, based on the research of the temple of Taishan Dai Temple、Bi Xiatemple、Guandi Temple, Wangmu Pool Temple, Chenghuang Temple, LingyanTemple, Gaolishan Temple, Zhuyang zongsi Temple and Yuchi Temple, dramaticbuilding and dramatic activity, the general characteristic for temple theatre of MountTai.can be summed up as follows, the number of the temple theatre building is small,but the history and architectural form all display diversely. And its dramatics has long been a present state of prosperity, which is closely linked with the flourish offaith of Mount Tai in the folk sacrifice.
