The Rise Of The Movement Of Ku-shih-pien

The movement of Ku-shih-pien represent by Mr. Ku Chieh-kang is a significant event in the Chinese academic history of the twentieth century. The rise of the movement constitute the initial part of the whole movement, even be critical part. In the view of previous awareness of the subject, there are still a lot of the space of problem. Specifically speaking, the separation of North and South constitutes the basic pattern of the Chinese academic, and the huge academic war is a product of the academic pattern, or more accurately speaking, it is the initial collision between the New Culture School of Peking University and the Historical and Geographical School of Nan king Higher Normal School. The academic war is mainly divided into two phrases, and both end with triumph of the New Culture School of Peking University. Through the academic war, there are huge changes in the academia, concretely speaking, academic climate of "suspecting ancient" begin to expand the entire academia.The third chapter observes the movement of Ku-shih-pien from the level of the academic system, analyses the important role played by academic journals and magazines, scholarly works, publishers deeply to restore a real historical site. Specifically speaking, Ku Chieh-kang deliberately publish a article discussing about the ancient history with Qian Xuan tong in Reading Magazine, because the magazine has great market, and can lead to the change of climate. To be predictable, the New Culture School of Peking University and the Historical and Geographical School of Nan king Higher Normal School begin to debate in Reading Magazine, Journal of History and Geography, weekly magazine Sinology Department of Peking University. Soon after, Ku Chieh-kang make use of Pu press, compile Ku-shih-pien with related article of academic war, and propagate the book to academia and community, causing widely propagation of Ku-shih-pien, which ultimate pronounces the rise of the movement of Ku-shih-pien.In short, as for the rise of the movement of Ku-shih-pien, none of the three levels composed of the academic theory, the debate of schools, the background of academic system can be abandoned.
