Emotions are an important part of the human experience, abstract emotions expression is mostly based on human perception metaphor. In order to make the language more vivid, people express their inner feelings by a variety of metaphor. It’s very important to take literary texts as a corpora for the cross-cultural study. As the description of the human experience, literature is a good soil for sentiment metaphor study, which often use lots of sentiment metaphor to create a rich corpus. Basing on the Metaphor study at home and aboard, this essay sorts out the corpora in River Bank and The flower message from Tokei Temple, which are two Sino-Japanese Literary works with a lot of metaphors.Then we make a classification study on the source domain of sentiment metaphor, and sum up the characteristics of source domain in these two works. By comparing all the characteristics, we generalize the similarities and differences on the selection of source domain and target domain between these two works.The essay is divided into four chapters to discusses and analyses. Chapter one is the preface which explains the reason for the topic selection, the current situation of the task research at home and abroad, theoretical research and studying methods. The three parts from chapter two to chapter four are the key part of the essay, comparing the same corpora of source domain in these two works by ontological metaphors, orientational metaphors and structural metaphors, analyzing and explaining the similarities and differences on source domain and target domain between two works from culturology:geographic proximity and intercultural learning from each other cause the similar mindset, and different geographical environment and culture cause a different thinking mode between these two countries.This essay provides some fresh material of emotional metaphor, which is a further understanding of the theory of metaphor. We can discover the similarities and differences on the emotional expression between Chinese and Japanese by the corpus of comparation. Meanwhile, it can provide some reference for the Teaching Chinese as a Second Language and literary translation.
