Notes play an important role in the consecutive interpreting. Notes can not onlyhelp the interpreter reduce memory pressure, but also reduce effort consumption inthe limited effort coordination in the process of interpreting, so as to improve thequality of interpretation output.Student interpreters encounter many problems and difficulties during theirnote-taking process such as information deficiency of source language memory, slowresponse of collocation between symbol and semantic information during note-taking,inappropriate notes format, difficulties of back reading, unclear logic, strongpsychological dependence on note-taking, extra effort coordination pressure andpossibility of omission of the following semantic unit due to generating temporarynotes when matching the semantic unit with symbols.Through the discussion the author thinks that student interpreters should trytheir best to bring their subjective initiatives into play to develop their personalizednote symbols system after having mastered the general symbols. All related symbols, knowledge can be used to improve their note-taking ability through repeated practicethrough continuously summarizing and accumulation. It can maximize the targetlanguage output information through minimum note information. The discussion about note-taking automation and target language output qualityin this paper is divided into four parts: the first part is the introduction to the study;the second part is about the experiment design including the subjects, procedure, andquality assessment; the third part is data collection, analysis and discussion; the fourth part is the conclusion including the findings, limitations of the study and somesuggestions for interpretation training and future study.
