Perspective Of Historical Materialism On Historical Nihilism

Historical nihilism is a socio-political and cultural ideological trend which is produced under the influence of a variety of ideological trends based on the philosophy of historical idealism in the western world. Historical nihilism attempts to realize the purpose of replacing the guiding position of Marxism and overthrowing the socialist system by negating history, reality, people’s revolution, the achievements of socialist construction, and the historical inevitability and legitimate status of the Communist Party. Historical nihilism holds skeptical, negative and dispelling attitudes toward the historical essence, historical facts and historical rules, and gives arbitrary interpretation of historical phenomena, historical truth and historical figures, or even deliberately distorts the interpretation. Although this trend is not dominant, it still shows great devouring and assimilation effects and has exerted great impact on people’s ideology.The purpose of this paper, in the basis of existing research results, through text research, is to systematically grasp the Marxist historical materialism, and explore the vast and rich ideological resources contained in the Marxist historical materialism overcoming historical nihilism to oppose the historical nihilism from theoretical source. Through responding to the challenge from historical idealism, we should insist and develop the historical materialism. So, we need to analyze historical nihilism thoroughly and deeply to enrich and develop historical materialism, making it more complete and systematical.The paper, from the perspective of historical materialism, critically reads the historical nihilism, clear people’s thoughts. It has theoretical supporting significance and realistic significance to the development of our society, the cause of reform and opening up and the construction of socialism with Chinese characteristics and so on. I Combing the arguments between historical nihilism and Marx and Marxist in the history of philosophyThe criticism by Marx, Engels to Stiner. To resist historical nihilism and to consolidate the guiding position of Marxism in the ideological field, we must adhere to historical materialism standpoint, viewpoint and method, clean up the ideological and cognitive root which leads to bias and errors, actively promote the self-innovation and development of historical materialism, and enhance the capacity of persuasion, fighting and chrisma of historical materialism as the dominant values. At the same time, we must have a full study on the major historical issues reflected by the ideological trend of historical nihilism, give Marxist answers, perfect the development of the basic theories of historical materialism, build a socialist core value system that has broad appeal, and ultimately realize the harmonious unity of ideology and culture dominated by the socialist core value system. The premise of guidance is that we need to adhere to the Marxist standpoint, viewpoint and methods, make deep researches on the internal mechanism and the essential characteristics of the historical nihilism, find out its evolvement rule and the social roots and reveal its essence to guide the masses to consciously resist the negative impacts and consolidate the guiding position of Marxism in the ideological field.In all, western hostile forces’ attemptation to westernized China will not be changed, and the anti-socialist forces in China will exist for a long time. Opposing the historical nihilism thoroughly and adhering to the materialist conception of history is a long-term struggle in the ideological field. We should fully grasp the theory of the historical materialism, publicize and elucidate Marxist theories about historical law, speed up the popularity of the socialist core value system, make scientific research and advocate the Chinese history especially that after the founding of the Communist Party of China, enhance the immune competence against historical nihilism and improve the belief and confidence on the road of socialism with Chinese characteristics to resist effectively the severe harm caused by historical nihilism.
