A Study Of The Animal Narration In Zhang Wei’s Novels

As a writer of high reputation and high quality, the works of Zhang Wei and comments about him are as the same as popular. From the "Old Boat" to now, the affects almost have never been reduced. Zhang Wei invariably sticks to his principles over the years, whether the topic is about country or city, all is like walking and groaning in the wild. In this way, he has built his own unique spiritual kingdom. In this text, he chooses animal as a breakthrough into his spiritual realm, and to find the secret which always affects him and let him insist on.In China, the research on animal narration has being grown prosperously, but still has not formed a systematic way. In all kinds of research for Zhang Wei’s novels, animal has just been a part of the other research topics. However, the emergence of a large number of animals in the text is not accidental; it is a kind of phenomenon that provides us a new research perspective about Zhang Wei’s works. Based on the existing research data, doing a further reading for text and combine with the related theory on narratology, psychology, ecology, etc., all will give a support on the animal narration research.In the first chapter, it analyses zoomorphism embodied in the characters, and the way of communication between animal’s world and human’s world in works. Through the reading of the text, it shows animal characteristics of different people and the personal character of men and women, old and young at a different angle. The deeper communication between human and animal has formed a harmonious landscape, while it is not entirely a paradise. We should be cautious from this difference.In the second chapter, it discusses the animal’s function in Zhang Wei’s works which reflects the color of fairy tale and the formative mental mechanism. His works with fairy tale factor present two kinds of states, one is in line with his heart’s desire which has the function of compensating cure; another is opposite and conflicting which has the function of critical. Animal in these works has background and auxiliary function. Sometimes, it becomes a turning point which makes fairy tale deformation.In the third chapter, it traces the source and writing motivation of zoomorphism in his works, and some common and typical animals are chose to be analyzed simply. From two clues that region and time, we try to find the cause and position of Zhang Wei’s animal narration, gradually. We choose several kinds of animals like Horse, fox and porcupine to show the expression of the writer and his inconspicuous moral.In this paper, we explore the childishness recovery and true, rebuild the pursuit of beauty and goodness and truth contact with nature go through research and analysis the animal narration in Zhang Wei’s novels.
