It is a global issue to protect and keep diversity of minority culture. In china, protection and inheritance of this culture not only make a contribution to promote the great development and flourish of it, but also play an important role in maintaining the stability and unity in ethnic regions and constructing a harmonious society. As a member of the great family of minorities, the Hani nationality has created their colorful culture with long history. The Hani terrace is an outstanding form of farming at mountain which has got attention from the world. This article takes the spreading of Hani culture in mass media as the object of the research. Firstly, clarify the meaning and components of culture. Then make an analysis of spreading of Hani culture in two respects——the condition of the text about the communication of the Hani culture and the status of the Hani culture in media, which combine with the features of culture including diversity, adaptability, rarity, originally and internationally, the Hani culture, content analysis and text analysis. The research shows that the Hani culture was part of the’pseudo-environment’. Besides, mass media can promote the spreading of the Hani culture with its function of supervision. However, there are some problems, such as the time and amount of texts change with the Hani culture events instead of continuous attention to the Hani culture, the papers are short and the style of them is unchangeable. In addition, the pictures and planning on reports are not fully used in the texts. At the same time, the deep meanings of the Hani culture and feature articles of the ordinary Hani minorities are missing. The writings of the Hani culture are almost regional. These problems, I think, result from the wrong conception of minority culture, the political and economic appeal, and objective environment of minority region, especially the Hani nationality region. At last, according to the reality of minority region, media features and by using interrelated theory of news, mass communication, the research suggests that, mass media could take full advantage of itself, use agenda-setting and media linkage to enhance the ability of spreading the Hani culture.
